How to solve a jumble

Enter one jumbled word at a time, exactly as printed. Every jumble answer uses all of its letters, so the possible answers at the top are the ones to try. If more than one word fits, the more common word is usually the intended answer.

The final riddle

Most daily jumbles end with a pun or riddle built from the circled letters of the solved words. Once you have the answers, collect the circled letters and enter them here. If the riddle answer is several words, look through the shorter words for pieces that fit the blanks.

Tips

  • Look for common letter pairs first: TH, CH, SH, ING, ED and ER.
  • If you think a letter is misprinted or you are unsure of one, replace it with ?.
  • No answer at all usually means a typo; check each letter against the puzzle.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the solver show more than one answer?

Some letter sets have several valid anagrams, such as PLANET and PLATEN. Jumble puzzles almost always use the everyday word, which is listed first.

Can I solve the bonus riddle with it?

Yes. Enter the circled letters from all the solved words. If the answer is a single word it appears at the top; for multi-word answers, the shorter words list helps you find the pieces.

How is this different from the word unscrambler?

It runs the same dictionary but puts the full-length answer first and shows words of three letters or more, which suits jumbles. The word unscrambler is built for picking plays in tile games.
