Finding the best play

Scores here are the base tile points for each word, before bonus squares. A high-value letter such as Q, Z, X or J on a double- or triple-letter square is often worth more than a longer word, so check the top of the list against the board.

Use the board, not just your rack

Add letters already on the board that you want to build through. Enter your seven tiles plus one or two board letters and the list shows words that use them.

Blanks

Type ? for each blank. Words that need a blank have a dashed border, and their score leaves out the letter the blank stands for, because blanks are worth zero.

Frequently asked questions

Are these words valid in official Scrabble?

We use the public-domain ENABLE word list, which is close to, but not the same as, the official tournament dictionaries. Most words agree; a few rare ones may differ, so check a disputed word against your game’s dictionary.

Does the score include bonus squares?

No. It is the sum of the standard tile values. Double and triple letter or word squares depend on where you place the word.

What is a bingo?

Playing all seven tiles in one turn. Most tile games award a 50-point bonus for it, so the solver highlights any word that uses your whole rack.
